Edit: CX-600URS

Same story as the Denon, but with a twist. The IC just pulled the gold plated cap off, at least I think that's all it did. The cap has two small prongs that connect to something inside, when I put it back on, I seemed to have on right, but it still no worky. Again, I fear that more problem might lie ahead, all 4 look kinda funny compared to the rest, kind of tilted. This is not terribly important since I can use the other inputs for a tape deck for now.

I really hate these IC's that are too tight, people you have been warned, don't use these things unless you're sure your equipment can handle the stress they put on them!!!

The jack in question is the top one, 7th from the left, looks just like all the others, or am I missing something? Thanks

Am I correct Larry, the one picture looks like those are the IC's that need to be loosened prior to removing?

No they are just push on. Like your Taras. When you pull them off. I try to get as close to the component and as I pull I turn. If I have to I hold my one hand on the component and then pull and turn.

Jim are you talking the Green ICs?

One question. How do you pull the ICs off the component? Not trying to rub salt in a wound.

Larry
Ok, I guess I should clarify, the Tara Greens in the picture Are Not the Problem (they wouldn't be back on if they were, would they ;) ). The empty jacks to their left in the pic are the tape inputs, the Tara's are tight but not as bad as the ones I was using in the pics below.

Larry, that yammie preamp doesn't weigh hardly anything, a little more than the X-Amp, I had a good hold of it, then I loosened the screw collar on the IC plug, and pulled it back while twisting and wiggling lightly till they popped off. I did not at anytime jerk, yank hard. You've seen pics of me, I ain't a big dude.

Stuwee I'm just thinking here; but if I'm correct. On my locked ICs. When you turn them to the right the collar goes down and loosens them. When you turn to the left the collar goes up and tightens them. They are backwards then every thing else. I have a couple of decks in pieces here let me look at the jacks. I don't think you need a gang of 4. I think you can do 1s or 2s and they will fit. You will just have to solder them in. Let me look. Also like a dummy. I bought a new CD rom. Do you want the one I have now. It is a CD/DVD writer. It will fit in your lap top.

Well, looking at them closer now, I don't think these are the collar lock kind, they are Neutrik plugs. A look at their site doesn't show any bananna RCAs like that either. The collars are for access to view and fix.

Hey buddy, thanks for the offer, but don't look or mess with the jacks, I need to replace all of them and since they're the insulated kind, I want the same. I'd be silly to replace the one, and a few months later when I unplug to clean, another one that was stressed from before breaks. Dale has a parts bin at work or I'll find a parts Denon on CL. :D

See if Steven needs the CD/DVD writer. I have the one in the old tower and the two you gave me in that box of goodies awhile back....so I'm set :thumbright:

I'm not saying just replace one. Those are very common jacks. If I have them it would take a minute to unsolder them. But if you don't want me to that is OK by me. LOL

Stuwee. I think my jacks for the Yamaha are shorter than yours. They look the same though. I would take a pic; but I haven't figured out how to not be so many pixels.LOL And you would make fun of me. LOL
