Good morning/afternoon/evening folks, got a problem and hope someone can help.

I am in need of a PL700II Power Transformer.....yeah you heard correctly. The secondary side

measures 0.3 ohms red to black to red. Knew when I purchased it had a hard life.

Well, need some wisdom on replacing/rewinding on these puppies and figured this would

be the best place for it. Has bigger caps and WOPL pcb installed that worked great for

over a year...but now we are toastado......

P.S. yes I know how to work on electronics

How do you know the transformer is bad? That resistance seems too low for you?

Unless you're using a micro-ohmmeter, resistance readings only tell you it's not open. If the transformer winding(s) were shorted your nose would tell you it was bad. Verify the primary and secondary are not open and then use the dim bulb test set on the primary and read secondary voltage to confirm it's ok.
