Pioneer TX-D1000, kinda the tuner end of an SX-D7000, needs repair 2 days/cheap

eBay sellers never say WHAT is wrong anymore. Hence, you either wait for price to drop or just guess that there is a blown fuse or they just don't care to test it and you might get a good surprize.

Not common, nonetheless.

The tuner in the SX-D7000 is probably better and stonger than the TX-950s though and you should be able to detune AM by 1 kHz increments as it probably also has 9/10 kHz switchable stepping as well.

This is handy for artificially bringing out a little more treble by taking it slightly off, like you would on an analog tuner.

ACTUALLY, compared to the price of a non-working SX-D7000, this is a relative bargain.

I may be mistaken but I think it's the only real digitally synthesized tuner in the 1978-81 models.

Nobody bit, watch for a relisting and hopefully they don't tear it down as parts.

But that isn't all digital and both of it's alter ego the SX-D7000 are out of commission right now.

It is probably the only digital tuner available from Pioneer that year AFAIK. Analog tuners were in the minority at Pioneer after that.
