Near mint, will have all signal path caps replaced wiyh Nichicon Km, KZ, Elna SilmicII's beefed up power supply, All to Echowars' suggested upgrades. I have 2 other Spec 1's and have no use for this and its getting crowded in the basement. I have done the following upgrades to the aforementioned Spec 1's and the difference is SIGNIFICANT. One condition, it will be the subject of a thread with lots of pics and detail. As i have not threaded a recap and upgrade of a Spec1 this will be the one. These are raw pics of it just out of storage and not even dusted off. Those are not scratches, but glare. You will not believe what this puppy will look like or sound like. the price will be ridiculously low.

It looks like another ambitious project ahead of you, Lee. The benefit for the buyer is not only having a classic preamplifier, but one that's been super-tuned and historized throughout its upgrading process. I look forward to what you have in store for the Spec 1.

There will be quite a few of these fix it sell it threads, I have got waaaaaaaayyyyyy too much stuff. There will be 4 PL 400 fix and sells, 2-PL 2000 , 2-PL 3000 SER II's, A Marantz 4300, a PL700 SER I, a Pioneer SX 850 Identical to the 850 I'm sending Robert Friday, a couple 700B road warriors, a Pioneer Sx 3700, Jeez, a lot more when I get to kickin stuff around.
The Pl amps will have the new White Oak Audio PL 14 /20 upgraded NEW REPLACEMENT boards, DC, and speaker protect, new drivers, etc.
Help me out here guys, the price on the Spec 1 will garner more than one request to buy I think, how do we fairly determine who gets it???? I don't like the first come deal because people have different schedules??

The Spec 1 will be guaranteed for one year, be subject to a 30 day don't like it send it back trial all for.......................................375.00

You are right, Lee, that is a PAC exclusive offer. There won't be anything comparable for that price in a Spec 1 that's been tweaked. Will you be waiting until after the upgrades have been completed on it, before offering it for sale? You could generate even more interest from prospective buyers, if you wait until then. And I don't doubt the thread may even attract new members out searching the internet for such an item.

If there's enough interest in buying your Spec 1, I wouldn't sweat it about bending over backwards to accomodate us. Everyone has a heads-up, so perhaps a one question quiz could ease your mind in selecting a winner?

Yes, draw a winner provided the answer to your question is correct. And make the question something not readily available on the internet, such as...?

The question can be a trivia question of a little known fact about the Spec 1. I could help you with the question if you like?

How about I register everyone who wants a crack at it, randomly number ping pong balls, blindfold Jani and have her grab one??

I wonder if Jer can set up a random number generator to assign numbers to the list of interested parties, unbeknowenst to me or Jani, and to make it even more interesting the price is now 250.00

The other stuff going will be similarly priced. I was thinking 150.00 on the pre-amps(except this one) 200-250 on the amps. Should generate some interest. Not heard of anybody doing this before.

You know, if stuwee weren't fast asleep he would have an X-rated response to your previous post. You can't have the words "crack" and "balls" and "grab" in the same post. I wonder what the little gaffer is dreaming about?

It's way past your bedtime. What do you do for a living anyway? You have too much energy.

Drove truck all day today. went to casper and picked up 2 complete sets of Rockwell SRDD 6.14 double reduction 44,000 lb rear end assemblies for our 1978 BE 30 ton hydraulic crane. It's had the rear ends tore out for a year. Finally found some parts , the rear ends are NLA AND rOCKWELL ONLY MAKES PARTS EVERY COUPLE years for em so they get expensive quick. To make a long story just a wee bit shorter. 15,000 worth of good ol American "DOUBLE REDUCTION TOP DROPS" for 2,000.

And I thought NOS parts were hard to find for my Buick GS. I knew you had a trip planned to Casper. It's always a good feeling when you find good parts at a deep-discount price.
