Well guys I have about had enough. The good news Phoenix tapes will still be made and there will be a forum. I'll know by the end of the week. I have had enough. I'm tired. I'm real tired of fighting with loaders and vacuum pumps. It isn't fun any more. Really I have had it. It is for sale lock stock and barrel. I owe to much money and it seems like I'm going no where fast. When it starts getting between me and my wife it is time to end it. I'll still do my audio gear. But I'm done. I have had enough.

It's too bad, Larry. We all know you have persevered with the tape loader issues to the point of total frustration. And that's saying something for the level of dedication you've given to making a success out of it. You have the tenacity of a bulldog. I hope this will work out well in the end.

Nando make me an offer and it is yours. I'll send my customers to you. I haven't told them yet. They are very loyal. I have 2 big orders waiting right now. I now have 3 vacuum pumps sitting here. None big enough to pull I have it cutting and splicing. Just not enough vacuum.

If it's strictly a low vacuum problem... and I don't know a thing about the operation or process equipment used in this machine, is there a vacuum reservoir somewhere in the system? I would think there would have to be. Is there a failed check valve that is allowing vacuum to bleed off before some of the automatic functions take place. If there isn't a vacuum tank, you could hook one in with a one-way check valve.

I would dread to have a girlfriend who didn't have enough suction.

If I had a garage or a basement (Ha! Right gettin' that puppy down a flight of stairs) I'd seriously consider it, would be perfect for the stuster :pirate: , but I have neither...Larry you've been great with your tenacity, no one can say you didn't give your all buddy  , maybe start writing down a Craigslist ad, and see what happens, or call Matt

No vacuum reserve. Straight off the vacuum pump. I am looking at a kit that has reservoirs. I just asked Lee if they would work with one of the pumps I have.

try a two stage hook up. The one with the most volume make it the first. Then plumb the suction of the second pump into the discharge of the first.

It may be at the volume required the pump isn't quite enough and staging them will help pull a greater vacuum but not volume of vacuum, worth a try. What size lnes ya runnin.

I don't think vacuum pumps are meant to be run in series by plumbing discharge to inlet. A vacuum tank will give you the volume and sufficient vacuum needed to run properly. But, if the tape loader wasn't specified to have a tank or different cfm rated pump to operate properly, then that would lead one to believe it's under performing for another reason.

true Nando, they aren't designed for that, but can be staged to see if additional VOLUME or additional VACUUM is needed.a vacuum pump is only so good for creating a certain amount of pressure DIFFERENCE, if you can increase suction pressure or reduce discharge pressure thats the same as raising capacity of the pump

Well my customers are freaking. I'm the only loader that will do less than 100 tapes at a time. That is why I was getting business. So I also have one guy that wants me to do his J-cards. No one else does less than 100 of them either. I have a brothers professional printer. It does a pretty good job. Am checking on another vacuum pump from the guy I bought the loader from. Would like to have one that would do both loaders.

Larry, I'm just thinking out loud here... but is it not enough vacuum or just not enough vacuum sustained for the period needed? If it's the latter, then wouldn't a vacuum tank or reservoir be necessary? You have an 8 CFM pump.. that's not enough? Just seems to me that something's missing...

I think the best suggestion IMHO is the one you just made... talk to the previous owner and figure out what he had that you do not.

Again.. "just thinkin....".

Ditto, see how he had it running.
