I just picked up a Phase Linear 400 Amp and 4000 Preamp. Both need to be refurbished and I am thinking of using kits from White Oak. However, I would really like to have a professional technician do it. Are there any folks in Atlanta, Georgia that can do this?

Don't know about Atlanta, but Tom Brucker (Nakdoc) is on here some and s just up the road in Nashville. Though he closed his shop, he's still working on projects out of his home. Might try contacting him, though I'll grant that two passes through Chattanooga would drive one mad right now.

It is worth the shipping to ship it to someone that will do it up right. Not just the guy down the street...
I took on a "guy down the street" job last year. What a disaster. Had to trash a full W/O board set. Tracks were blasted off the back planes when outputs were improperly installed. Globs of solder on the boards.

Some of the people on this site are true craftsman. You look at the meticulous cable runs and marvel at it. It's worth the cost of shipping.

For shipping, there is a company in Columbus Ohio, Cabbage Cases, that builds custom road boxes. Lee commissioned them for a P/L road box years ago. I bought one. It's indestructable. By now they probably cost over $400. A good alternative is a Legal Tote Box from U haul and half a sheet of the pink foam insulation from Home Depot. Cut the foam in the garage. It's messy. The amp fits like a glove in the box.

SO one of the replies says "I'd take it to Eric". Being new to the forum, I don't know who Eric is and how I get in touch with him. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
I'm Eric.
