That's an example of how not to record a tape. But, it looks like the cassette deck is in Pause mode, so it's just part of the visual appeal. Pegging the meters is a waste of a tape. I liked the video, however.

So he is using the reverb amp through the tapedeck monitor with the tape on record pause then? I confess not watching the entire vid, I was trying to see the amp and preamp stuff. It's an interesting setup. Do you use a reverb amp Nando? I have a Sansui coming this week sometime. I looked at the vid of the one I have coming and when the dude adjusted the knob, the display fvcked with my eyes bad :laughing5:

Ron: Probably using the tape loop on the preamp, which is the best way to do it. You can cascade a few sound processors through one set of preamp tape loops. Although I haven't got the reverb set up in my upstairs system, I did use it in my downstairs system for some time. I loved the sound of it with just a bit of effect. Which Sansui have you got coming?

It's an older Pioneer SR-303 to go along with my other Spec gear.

I like your clip better then mine LOL. I remember having the 2nd to last component at the bottom back in the 90s. I remember also owning a few earlier pieces also, all Pioneer. I picked them up from a pawnshop on Monroe Ave in Rochester when I lived out there back in the early 90s. The silverface stuff was EVERYWHERE and not badly priced used. If I had known then what I know now, I would have had a wall of silver Pioneer :angry5:

I doubt I will hang on this long, no way I want to get into Sansui stuff of this vintage bug. If it sounds half as good, I can always hide it behind something in the main system. I am not running a tape deck in my system anymore sadly. I want something that will go along with the looks of the WOPL if I am going to have a deck again. I know where there is a Nakamichi ZX-7 but the dude wants $175, a lot for it, more then I want to pay and the wrong color

Ron: A ZX-7 for $175 in working condition would be a bargain for someone who would have it serviced. If there was a picture in your last post I couldn't see it. If I do patch in the SR-303, I will post a video of it in action.
