I decided to get as many of my turntables going as I could. My MCS 6600 has been inquired about by my old girlfriend's daughter (27) and she wanted a direct drive. I know somebody else who wants a phono AND receiver plus a cassette deck and that leaves the Technics SL-1300, 210, Pioneer PL-115D, my PL-610 is now in the shop and my Sony PS-T25 is ugly and needs a pivot screw, shell and cart (lid perhaps) and a PL-4 needing a needle and a speed repair on one speed

If you know where I can get the small extra weight that goes in the back end of the tonearm of a PL-112 or PL-115 turntable, I would like to get one. I lost mine years ago. I am trying to use a Shure V-15 Type IV and I cannot get the arm light enough.

I've got the entire PL-115D table. Kinda want it together to sell at some point, but I need a shell and a cart on it first.

I have four Pioneer PL-112/115D shell/cartridge combos if you want one of them. #1 is the original Pioneer headshell with a Stanton Z-1 cartridge and a good needle, #2 is a Technics shell with a Technics 442C cartidge and a new needle, #3 is a nice Technics clone shell with a Empire 2000 E/III cartridge and a good needle, and #4 is a Victor ZE shell with an unknown Victor cartridge and a fair needle. All of the above combinations are on professional headshell holder/gauges.

#1 is $50, #2 is $20, #3 is $30, and I will give you #4 if you pay the shipping.

Mark, what kind of counter weight do you need?

I have a PL-4 I'm not likely going to keep and a Technics SL-210 plus if I'm still lucky I have one floating around with no mama.

I also have a stacker Pioneer, black PL-2?? that runs on power from the main unit.

Good think the shed is LIT and TIDY, can look in seconds.

I'm looking for the small round weight that looks like a plug and goes in the back of the tonearm tube. It adds 2-3 grams at the back of the tonearm. Send me an private mail with your address.

The stray is larger and heavier as I recall and I'll look for it in here and hope I didn't toss it a month or two back.

One question tho:

Why are you having such a problem dialing it in?

If you have no weight why haven't you considered an arm transplant?

I know, you like it stock.

I had to get an entire arm and circuit board for my PL-610s weight and probably will end up using more of that assembly than I thought.

Will PL-12D offer any help to you?

I had one as well (traded it for the 115D), it's mainly a hunch.

Your first picture shows a little dark nub coming off the back of the tonearm. I think that is what I need.

I'm not sure I understand what you are lookiing for.

The back of the arm has no threads as you described to me. It SLIDES until you can balance the free arm and you dial the gauge in for the force needed. They operate independently.

It's about as tricky as zeroing the scale you stand on at the doctor's office (turn the screw for the weight until it balances) but not quite.

That's what I remember from my first turntable in 1981, a Realistic LAB (Technics rebadge).

If it skitters erraticly still and the anti-skating control does not help you might need to repair the AS mechanism. Perhaps a spring or small part is bad?

I don't know if my PL-610 has one that will work but it's 1200 miles away, both tonearms.

Mine is missing, of course but it is just like that little threaded job - without the threads, it just slides in. The PL-112 was a less expensive turntable, the screw-in auxiliary weight would be for a better-quality turntable.
