Okay...here are pictures inside my Pioneer CT-F650. Anybody see what's wrong with it?

Symptoms:

PLAY: doesn't move.
REW: also doesn't move.
FF: DOES fast forward.

METERS: seem to function. Display lights, maxes and drops off on powerup and shutdown.

PMS (Pioneer Music Search) stops at blank spot in FF (only working direction)

CANNOT TEST AND SUSPECT TO BE OKAY FOR NOW: RECORDING FUNCTIONS and EQ SETTINGS.

Below are some pictures of the cassette drive. Does anybody diagrams of or experience with this deck?

It's really a wonderful deck other than that and I can't wait to use it!

I think I might see where a belt could be missing...

So...why do i have FF and not play? Can someone point out what empty pulley or bad gear I'm after at 3 am?

Thank you much.

I don't see a belt between the main motor and the capstan flywheel. you will need one of those for this thing to play.

Okay...I'll get that figured out and see if I have a new belt to fit in the assortments I got recently...

Some rebelting instruction for this deck could only help now I guess...

Is this deck basically the same as the CT-F600 except for the changed display? I have one out in the garage that needs some TLC but everything moves on it beltwise

by the way...

THIS is still sitting there at $20/shipping?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-CT-...o-Repeat-3-Head-2-Motor-w-issues/200952677162

I don't THINK too much is wrong with it...sounds like it works some...maybe I'd like some help in that direction :hello1:
Okay, yeah the capstan motor thing but if Nick has a couple dozen 900/950s and they all do this at some point I can live with fixing it too...

It WAS relisted and closes right as my money comes in, hint.

On the 600 vs. 650 question I do not know off the top of my head...http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/ may or may not be able to tell you some parts matches but as to the relationship between the two I haven't researched it.

Only ONE thing wrong with that link you gave me...

It's on Audiokarma.

Not an anti-AK thing, but since I was banned around 2005 and you have to sign in to see nearly all of the pictures (they are in links in vBulletin usually if you aren't logged in), it's not very good unless someone logs in and saves the pages (as in HTML/.mht files, entire web pages) and sends them to me).

It's too bad, because it looks like it was actually a decent thread.
