- Broken beyond repair but highly affable
The Kenwood has a noisy volume-balance control, but that's not the real problem.
The output is lacking in real bass, loudness not really an option. It has what I consider notch distortion and the bass pot is not effective much. I can get decent treble but not a lot of bass and loudness not so helpful.
This model can apparently be made into a 4-channel set based on the provisions on the back.
The meter lamp is out, not the dial lights.
VS
The Hitachi has a Class H (dual rail) power supply.
It presents rock solid LF and the HF is ambient, and resonant,
Does not tune as well as the Kenwood.
Power to spare and delivers spacious, well-defined sound.
The Kenwood can be helped. What you think about it?
