I was selling them when they we're first introduced. Passed up an employee buy for $400 and signed by Bob Carver. :dontknow: I just couldn't at the time....

That amp would handle pretty much any inefficient, multi-driver, high-order crossover design with ease- like cutting butter with a hot knife.

My co-worker brought in an older, pretty powerful carver amp, kinda like that one in the $650 CL add I was just talking about. (an M xx t?). It was so dramatically different on high volume rock that it might as well have been a clock radio amp by comparison.

I have no experience with the 700/B or the PL of the vintage that seems pretty popular around here, so I was wondering if money was on the table, who knows what is better? I don't, but damn if those PL amps aren't sweet looking. I've had -meter envy- for years lol.

If I remember correctly, the Sunfire was 300 x 2 8ohm, 600x2(4),1200x2(2) and temp 2400x2(1). !!!!!

They are pretty precise. With not the edge of alot of SS gear. I can see why they were used by bands for amps. They like rock and roll.

I've not heard a Sunfire but have had PL and Carver. PL is far superior in my experience to the Carver. Many times it seems the second offering does not match up the original for many reasons.

Here is a pic of the $450 BIN 700B that I snagged on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Very sweet cosmetics..t's on the back burner for now.. I will attempt th full meal deal on her as funds become available. Going to get the White Oak Rev C PCB, new caps, LED's, new drivers and outputs, new 50 amp BR, and Don't DCP relay..I have some of the stuff on hand, some is ordered, and I think Joe is putting together the PCB and light board...Don, if you are lurking around, I need one of your DCP boards, please.
