Bought it from and AK'r in "bartertown". Paid his asking price plus shipping within minutes of the agreement with paypal.
Then the idiot leaves me negative feedback for taking advantage of him..WTF..

How could you take advantage of the seller? If he took your payment and shipped the unit ,then he must have been happy with the deal?

He had smoked the protect relay. All it really needed was a new relay.$12 drop in replacement from Digikey. I also stuffed the power supply board with Elna SilmicII's.Sounds pretty good for a little 80 watt Integrated amplifier.

Thinking back, he asked me about a frame for saddle bags one time, I sent him to a forum that the guy running the forum made custom frames, I don't know details but Jeff ended up banned.

Again the repair was beyond his capabilities, if he sold it to you cheap cause he forgot to plug it in then it is your gain and his loss. When I sell something not working I sell it for the non working price period, if the buyer fixes it easy or not it is his to do with as he pleases and I don't make a big stink about it. He should have paid $180 locally to either get an estimate or get it fixed if it was that critical. After all you took a gamble in purchasing the thing also.

I have personally met Jeff a couple times. He definitely had his agenda's at the time. And chatting with me was not a high enough priority,I guess..I found him kind snobbish.
A couple years ago. I was holding a Yamaha M-4 amplifier for him.Basically awaiting a Pony Express.Well the pony express never came through. I offered to buy the amp from him.I knew how much he had paid and offered him $10-15 more. Not sweet enough deal I guess,He wanted about $70 more.
To make a long story short. I ended up trading him a pair of brand new JAMESAUDIO 6123H OPT and a pair of SOVTEK 2A3's..He got a very sweet deal..And he was still a snob to me. Where's the Karma in that.

Avionic,
Thicken your skin. This is part of the burden. To you it was a "I didn't have to think hard" repair. To him, you simply replaced a fuse....I will make a professional comment on AK if you want me to.

You can if you like. What really erked me is . I bend over backwards to help people out.Never once did he ask for help.I didn't volunteer any to him simply because of his attitude the times we had met.Had he asked.I would have tried to walk him through it,just like everybody else.
His remarks on the Feedback forum have had zero impact as far as clients wanting repairs done.

I'm glad you came to us to vent about this Dave, I miss the idiots over there at AK. I don't have anything against Jeff except his extreme lack of judgement posting a personal attack in the forum, when he could have just as easily PM'd you about his being pissed off. He reminds me of a certain forum Owner that deals with tapes and thinks his shit doesn't stink and loves to goad others into arguements about how he was 'wronged' in a transaction. His name is Des something, a real douche bag.

I think it's kinda funny how Jeff thought he could besmirch you in public. I mean really, Dave you're one of the most highly regarded techs in the country, with hundreds of satisfied customers and a long wait list for work, not to mention an extremely nice and handsome man :thumbright: :pirate: . I'd stay away from those Minnesota morons in the future ;)

In the interest of not causing outside problems here I believe we all know how this is going and can say that Dave is not the problem. Unless Dave would like to say more lets let this rest, as it is not going to make things different by discussing them Furthur (yes Dead Spellng) here.
