Hello Guys,
I was posting pictures to the final build on my 700B in another thread. I got most of the loose ends done today, went to final assemble the faceplate, and found the LH attenuation potentiometer was almost broken through on the die cast threads. This 700B I recently received from my brother and his son, so it is not one that I have had for many years, like the first one that I WOPL'd. I don't know it's history but it appeared all original inside. That att pot was timed weird when I took it apart, so I believe this was cracked when I got it. Anyway, it completely broke through as I went to snug it up.m and I was babying it, This 700B uses the front knobs that tighten in place with a setscrew. I never liked these compared to the ones that are held in place on a flat and use a high carbon spring to hold them in place on the shaft.
The other one seems to be okay. Of course, I just saw it as I was finish assembling the faceplate!
Does anyone know a source for these? I do not have any extras and had heard they were hard to find. I have accounts with Mouser and Digi-Key.
Thanks in advance!

If they're 100k ohms, part# PDA241-HRT02-104B0. If they're 50k ohms, part# PDA241-HRT02-503B0.
These are Bourns part #s off of Mouser tags. These pots are from Bourns Pro Audio line of pots, are High Torque which means they have resistance to turning when bumped, and have a nice feel. Thank Joe for posting the 100k part number a good while back.
I use these in my WOPL 400s with the set screw retained solid aluminum knobs.

Hmmm, looks like the 100k is discontinued or out of stock most everywhere. If you can't find a updated or in stock part # send me a PM. I'll be on the road working all week so earliest I could send you two is next Monday.

If you need the 100k, Arrow Electronics has 201 PCs of PDA241-SRT02-104B0. This is the standard non High Torque version. Will work perfect with good feel. Critical dimensions are shaft length of 19 mm, shaft diameter of 6.35 mm(1/4"). Try to get carbon film rather than plastic.
Octapart is a good website for entering part #s and it spits out sources and stock.
I don't see any updated part #s for the Bourns. Pretty damn scary.

That's what I thought too, scary. Most of the Bourne pots are "Discontinued." I did find some 100k but they were 1/4 watt. These are 1/2 watt, otherwise the specs were all the same. 57 in stock, and they are Bourne carbon film, havn't checked dimensions.
Thank You, I really appreciate it!

Hello Nav,
I really appreciate the help. That second number PDA241-HRT02-104B0 does look like it will work. Those are Linear taper (.5w) and the specs fit. It is scary to see the verbiage " End of Life: Scheduled for obsolescence " .......
I have an old college buddy who uses similar pots in restoring guitars, he was going to check his stash and get back to me today. I think the 104B0 will do the trick, I will replace both. I do like the feel of the "High Torque" Bourns, and never liked that smooth shaft/setscrew setup.
Thank You to everybody for the help !!!!! You guys are fabulous.
