Hi all,
I picked up this Marantz integrated amplifier from the local mini flea market, today. My youngest son, Christopher, was with me when I discovered it. Chris recently moved back home (this past Tuesday) after spending the past four years living in Montreal, half a country away. Before we went out shopping - he's an even bigger thrift store advocate than I am - we had an early lunch at one of my favorite downtown restaurants. During our lunch we caught up on all sorts of topics. He was really interested in my latest exploits in up-trading with vintage audio gear - buying components, then selling them for a tidy profit to move onto something better. We had previously planned to hit the used good stores after eats. Lucked out at our second stop as there was a new arrival sitting there for my consideration. Christopher was a bit surprised when I didn't barter on price, with Jack, the owner of the store. Jack treats me well and I know the $75 cash I paid was well worth the cost of the amp. Somewhere down the road he would toss me a freebie, or special deal.
I'm just beginning to learn about it. There's more information available here:

Some nice features: I especially like the Class A operation, the independent channel tone controls with defeat, and the CD/phono direct capability. It's a little rough on the rosewood side panels, but I can deal with that later. Hooked up and running for the past two hours:
Nando.
