Looking for good Infinity Speakers for home audio system. Not surround sound system. I hate listening to music thru surround systems.

Thanks,

All I've ever found are empty cabinets and crossovers, which I promptly built up...My RS-4000 woofers were toast, the mids are being refoamed and will rejoin the cabs soon and I built them up with Pioneer 8" FB because they nearly match my CS-K835s in appearance.

I didn't even get any EMITs.

And welcome to PACF, hope to hear more from you on the boards soon!

There are many ways to improve RS-4000s, I just did it the counterintuitive way, Pioneer CS-06 8", CTS mids (to be replaced with the original Infinitys) and Foster/Radio Shack square plastic tweeters. Then I pulled the Infinity badges and glued Pioneer on to match my CS-K835s. But like I said, the woofers were totally spent and I had no EMITs. I have seriously considered putting Polk Audio domes in place of the Fosters, like Monitor 10t or similar. The crossovers are stock and I don't run anything that will pull the impedence way out of line.

I've had smaller Infinity tweeters but they are in use in other speakers.

As for the Advents, you can replace the woofer all you want, they are just too small for loads over 25 watts. This is from personal experience having owned them.

I need a pair of Infinity 12" woofers to get my SM-120s back in service

I have tested and rebuilt Infinity EMITS, Polycell tweeters and a pair of refoamed Watkin's 12" woofers available for trade. I would love to use the Watkins but not sure how I would hook them up as the crossovers are totally different between the SM series and the Quantum's. I would also have to cut the cabs to allow for the larger diameter cage. Infinity used two different inner ring cage diameters with the SM series, the larger does not fit without cutting
