With or without tape. I'll just can the tape if it is on the reel unless it's virtually unused, new, and not showing SSS signs. Using the reel for display purposes on my Ampex ATR-700 to match the one reel I already have. Needs to be mint or very close, at least on the front flange. Speaking of, flanges will work just as well as I've got a few 1/4" hubs here at casa Boyer. Willing to pay.

Thanks in advance.

If you can find or recreate the Ampex stickers I have a number of Quantegy 456 reels with I believe 406? on them from an estate that 8991XJ (Keith) sold me when I was on TH.

It's 1/4"

It's not the stickers, it's the color of the reel. The 499 reels are a darker grey - almost gunmetal and I'm looking for that color, not the silvery aluminum color.

Many thanks, though. I'll know where to go if I need any of the other.

Then apparently a picture could really help.

As requested. Hopefully my monitor matches yours, not sure about the color calibration of this hotsy-totsy monitor on my new MacBook Pro. But you should get the idea:

Found one at a decent price on the 'bay. It was a half-inch reel but I have some extra 1/4" hubs so it's good to go. Pix later now that there are matching display reels on the deck.
