A MBL is going to cost around 5000.00 or more. My GF tubed CDP cost about 1000.00. Then I hooked the Perpetual Tech 1 and 3 to it. I paid 300.00 for them. I think that you don't have to spend large sums of money to get a very good sound out of a CDP. At some point you start getting diminishing returns. You have to consider the cost effectiveness of running it into the rest of your gear. Any source is only as good as your weakest link.
