Brand Loyalty? Not saying your wrong for being loyal. Have been on a Vintage site on facebook. Marantz this Marantz that. Technics and Pioneer TTs. Receivers galore. Sort of like me being a Chevy man ; but own a Kia. I have owned many pieces of gear. I was rolling at least 5 pieces a week. Buy, try, sell. Not many name brand Japanese I kept. Just Yamaha tape decks. I can understand the synergy thing between same brand components. Santana - Shape Shifter I'm just wondering is all.

I used to be into brand loyalty until I started seeing that there is other stuff out there just as good if I am willing to try. My home system is a hodgepodge of components that sounds good together. ADC, a/d/s, dbx, Carver, Pioneer, Cerwin Vega and a WOPL in a pear tree

Yep, Im a Pioneer fan but that doesnt mean I only use their gear. Yorkville, Crown, Bose, Sony, Yamaha, and Pioneer make up my stack.

Most long time members here know where my loyalty lies - and that's with Pioneer. I do search out Pioneer components to add to my system, but only components within local reach or from members. I don't pursue anything on eBay and only purchased one thing on craigslist that happened to be for a Pioneer Elite CD changer being sold within my town. When I get older I am going to have the old Pioneer logo tattooed to my arm.

While I am not brand loyal, I do like a stack of gear all by the same manufacturer so they look nice together. I have systems by Pioneer, Onkyo, Sony, Denon, Nikko.

Stereoparts has various Pioneer themed t-shirts from Canadian West Graphics so skip the tat and go to eBay and Buy Canadian/Buy Ontario.

Thank you, Lee, I should begin writing out my last wishes. I know I could come up with a lot of silly stuff to take with me to the other side. I hope there are no restrictions on how loud it can be up there. If there are, I am taking it deep, deep, downstairs where I am sure I might be surprised who'll show up.

Can you over improve your home?I was appraised at 129 4 years a go. 2 years I was appraised at 155. I have upgraded insulation. My heating cost has dropped 20 to 30%. Haven't seen a 200.00 electric bill in a year. New windows and doors. Pulled the vinyl flooring and laid tile. No carpet all bamboo. Heated garage, single 220vac outlet, dedicated 120 20 amp outlet, closet in here instead of LR. Fireplace thermo/blower fan installed in FP, Separate wall thermo for it. Mantle installed. Kitchen Kohler 8 inch deep well twin black cast iron sink with brass strainers. Now the guest bath. All rooms have ceiling fans. 2 in the lr/dining area. Now my question. When does the law of diminishing returns kick in when doing home improvements?

I'm not saying I want to hasten your demise, what I'm saying is that If I'm alive and you're not I can make that happen.
