I am always amazed that there are so many folks stone down for the HI Fi sound. Hope to be around for a while poking into your ventures.

Welcome to our forum, Ric. There's always something interesting going on here from hobby recording to serious component builds. One thing we all have in common is having a sense of humour while doing so.

Maybe more than ya bargained for.... If you are not a complete moron with extremely thin skin (which it appears you are not!!) You are granted "Cave" priveledges in a week or so. Very unteresting place...the cave is.... ask NavLinear...
Yea, I have a JVC TD-V621 deck bought new about 25 years ago and love to record Jazz off the late night FM radio. I have a little system in my shop I play them back on and it keeps me in the groove. I want to do some other work with the deck using my turntable and CD's as well. The 621 has the CD direct feature and does a pretty good job on CD and everything really. I have 5 complete systems set up around the house. All old stuff except the surround system upstairs. Nothing much really. I do have some fair speakers, 5 Advents in my theater set up down stairs in my club house in the basement. I have a nice little Fisher 102 receiver, an old Teac Cassette Deck and Advent III's all tucked into some narrow shelves built-in to the hearth in the den up stairs. Down here in the Club House I have my main system. I want to do some up grades on it. I have a decent old Kenwood turntable that I bought in 1977 that I recently had some work done on. Mitsubishi receiver that I want to replace, a broke down Sony CD machine, a pare of speakers I made around 1973 with high end Jensen woofers and Sansui 1500's that really complement each other in a very pleasing way and the JVC 621 deck of course. So you can see not to sophisticated but I hope to improve on it as I can. Right now I want to get a new CD machine with Digital Out and DAC to bring my digital up a degree. So there's about where I am. I am mostly into acoustic jazz these days. Mostly stuff from the 50's and 60's but there is some really good stuff going on all the time.
