Dude can play. I have been listening to him for years. Found tubes to roll the Shanling tubes. Wish I could afford another one. Took my Tuesday cough medicine today. Joe can play alot of different styles. That is why I listen. He does have his own style though.

I only ever had surfing with the alien and that was likely when it came out. I had it on cassette as I didn't have a CD player until 1990-91. Was playing it on a GE Blockbuster then which was all I had.

The Boombox is long gone but I found an image. Analog meters!

"Surfing with the Alien" is the consummate Joe Satriani offering. It's what got me into him, and is still a tape I play a lot.

Surfing is a great album and got most folks into Joe but I tend to reach for "Flying In A Blue Dream" shen I need some Sat. The couple tracks with vocals are tough but the others are great. ;)

I've been listening to Joe when he was a member of the Greg Kihn Band lately. Good stuff. I've never had any of his solo albums. I need to get "Surfing With The Alien". I've always dug the tune "Satch's Boogie".
