I have a Pioneer CT-F650 that is pretty dang glorious but for a couple odd things.

No PLAY, no REVERSE, DOES FF and the PMS (don't laugh it's MUSIC SEARCH not THAT thing) works great in theat one FF.

I opened the lid and know for a fact the play engages a belt but the flywheel does not turn although the COUNTER advances...

Now this is a GORGEOUS deck with metal tape capability as well as ferrochrome and Fluoroscan meters...

BUT THIS TAKES THE CAKE?

I put the deck in RECORD mode.

It not only starts rolling and the mic inputs work okay but one problem is that the right channel has a flutters at about -10 dB in the display when a mic (headphone for a mic) is plugged in THAT CHANNEL ONLY.

Who can help me get it going 100%? I want to use it so bad! I love this deck, it's so nice. Even the cassette bay lamp lights! :cyclopsani:

BUMP

Seriously, any ideas as to why?

WITHOUT tearing it down right now...I'm not ready to work yet, still sorting and cleaning.

It might be in better shape than mine...and thank you kindly for doing the search for that!

I still need an expanded drawing of the mechanism as I HAVE the schematic...

I also don't do Paypal and I'm broke unti the 1st.

There is a certain Onkyo TA-2090 was it? with Jerry or Perry that I've been waiting to hear back on it's repair progress since the last time I PMed Jer...

I had odd noise, drop outs and fluctuations - and at times one channel - on my CTF9191. It was really freaky. I almost tossed it out. Turned out all the controls needed a thorough cleaning. Also, there is a spot inside the deck, and I forget what is called, i want to call it a solenoid, where the contactors for the record engagement are. They get cruddy and I think that might be something to consider.

I sent you a good eBay auction for those tires a while back BTW.

Now can I find an exploded diagram?

PB: It's a pisno key deck. I don't think it has solenoids but do you mean a reed/microswitch?

I'll get more pics up later and you can tell me what the deal is.
