Laz, the article states the obvious, that Apple makes the newest iOS version to work best on the newest iPhone. They didn't need to OD on apple cider vinegar to figure that out.

They also link to the Daily Mail site, which is like the National Enquirer of the UK IMO anyway.

But my bondagephone (landline) never roams, never slows and never fails to ring and wake my cat when she wants to sleep.

They lost me by not allowing the user to expand their memory or replace their battery on their own.

Apple has been selling over priced items for a very long time and it is the customer that is not smart enough to figure it out.
In one Radio Engineering job I was given a Apple hard drive to fix. I asked what did this cost $600. It had a $70 hard drive and a external case.
You could get a PC type device for about $100. So what makes the Apple worth $500 more? Stupidity I think. I do not own any Apple stuff and do not intend to.
I had to do some computer support at high schools with Apple computer- their version of Windows was no better than the MS version I have used.

This is the answer. The stupidity of the public is why apple can charge those prices. In most cases the stupid public can operate an apple product but would have trouble with a normally price similar piece of gear. Sometimes it is necessary to pay to avoid the need for tech support, my brother did for his wife's phone and he is free of having to provide that support (he does it for work on other software) and she has a phone thing that works and she can figure it out. Only apple in the house.

30 bucks for a 5 dollar charging cord that is the cost of owning apple and not having to engage tech support to learn how to use it. Way overpriced in most cases and planned obsolescence of their gear in a few years time, ouch.

Don't look now but the word out is that the battery is SWELLING in some cases, I'm seeing it but haven't confirmed that from the multiple sites with the story...pictures of a split case, looks too drastic to be true as well.

Like it ate a Luftballoon and tool Nena with iit. People are really bored I guess. And the names of some of the websites are a bit spammy too. iphoneinformer...okay/
