Coming this week, FREE, from Craigslist!

3G83Fc3Jf5Ne5Ib5Jfd61dd74a4e9be17140b.jpg 8" with grilles. I should have crossovers and can build them almost immediately.

One speaker, in MONO...

I put fiberglass inside but wonder if it's too thick...I get nice treble but the bottom wants to buzz or breaks some and I seriously think it needs a PORT.

There is more mid-bass than bass. I will try less insulation and rearrange what is left.

What is the reading on my meter? Well, NO WONDER-4.3 OHMS!

Time to check the each part individually in the morning.

Reading the card that came with one it looks like I'm supposed to chain the coils from one to the other, observing correct polarity and fed from one side.

I'll try that.

That took it down to 2.9...

I put in an 8" Pioneer in it's place and got back to 6.9 but I had to remove the plastic facia to clear the grillecloth.

What I really need is the paper ring to glue down over the surround edge...the basket edge is fairly wide for an 8" because of that but these will do even though the treble is quite bright on axis with your ears and the woofers are more like mid-woofers with this crossover...

NO, it IS installed correctly, any other doesn't work but I think that's okay because I decided to use them as monitors or to fill in sections of a room. They will work well that way and they actually do wonders for country :bounce:

So they are ugly inside right now but I have something worked out to my satisfaction.

Need a couple speaker parts!

I have two 8.5" baskets and need 1" paper rings to cover the surrounds as I had to remove the plastic trim to clear the grilles. Anybody able to help?

I found the battery charger!

Here is what I've got so far and it reads 6.9 ohms at the terminals...I had to patch this woofer some time back.

I tried that ubiquitous 7 ohm 8" Realistic woofer found in a LOT of Nova and Optimus series speakers from the 70s and 80s.

Works well and it reads 7.3 ohms.
