I have a Mitsubishi TX-103R video control center (1982, MTS/SAP, 125 ch cable and OTA, RGB, camers and various others taking an RCA SelectaVision SGT-075 and below, Pioneer DT-525 DVD player, Mitsubiahi HS-U70 SuperVHS VCR and a Pioneer Laserdisc player, SLD-S104. The Mitsus are both stamped with the same code/name, "MINO" if that matters. It klooks as if I will have to switch a VCR in instead of the TX-103R as so far I have successfully loaded and unloaded the CED disc and I believe started ithe player as well with no picture of sound...will find a manual.

Re: In which we learn Selectavisions are 20 lbs/slow progres

I have plenty of laser disc titles, and it's nice to view some oldies which might not be readily available on DVD. The last bunch of laser discs I bought, came from a Chinese gentleman who was ridding all of his original collection in favour of Blu-rays. I, even, got the Pioneer laser disc player (CLD-1090) and disc stand, too. My upstairs laser disc player is a Pioneer Reference series CLD-95.

Lee, it makes a nice CD player, too. I think the Onyx fits onto the tray of my CLD-95 and I could swallow it if I hit "PLAY."

Re: In which we learn Selectavisions are 20 lbs/slow progres

Hey, it's my thread and that's just eery. Please?

Pioneer laserdisc players have been CD capable since shortly after CDs were introduced and Digital soundtracks were introduced. Pioneer was one of the entrants in the original CD competition. Their disc was dual sided with paper labels, much like the skinny 45s they were making during the Iranian oil embargo.

They were QUAD as well.

Now you know.

Meanwhile, I bought about 30 some additional CED titles and another player and all the second one does is whir like there's a disc in there and it won't shut off. HMMMMMMMMMMM 2.0 Beta.

I think there is a slipping belt. These things have to clamp the CED once it is extruded from the cover. My PRB guide says the SFT100 uses an FR21.5 belt.....that must drive the spindle.
