Played a couple LPs today. I'm always amazed at the sound. Just did Black Sabbath " Never Say Die " Gotta have those LPs. I keep forgetting. And I do like this Micro. Sutton if you want to get rid of that Micro tonearm. I'll trade you. LOL

When I'm rich I'll get a Grace. LOL

Re: I'm always anazed

You guys know how much I love the Onix CDP, but all it takes is a spin on the ol Thorens to bring me back down to reality...a nicely recorded Lp on a nice TT/arm/cart is really where the music lives.

Not one person that's listened to my set up has ever argued against that once they heard for themselves, even the ones who could really care less have said, it does sound better.

Meh, I left my albums and turntable 20 some years ago and haven't looked back. :cyclops:

You can't help but encourage Stuwee...

I love throwing on the Supertramp "Crime of the Century" vinyl version on the old Shure Supertrack. Sound doesn't get much better than this. I do like SACD as a close second though (Alison Krauss SACD is amazingly mastered).

Joe, didn't have you figured as a Supertramp fan. Love " Even in the Quietest Moments", and " Breakfast in America".

Yes Lee I'm still working on that tonearm, and my front yard and my deck and my back yard and cleaning the garage, and making tapes, and doing shipments. And trying to get things cheaper. Still trying to get the right vanes for that freaking pump.

When I wanted to let the neighbors know I was still alive an old favorite to spin was Montrose, Rock Candy is a favorite when i want to let the Legacy's take a walk.

Meh, threads are overrated anyway. :cyclops:[/quote:1vewmt4z]

Were threads not meant to be crapped on?

A few days ago, I patched in the Pioneer Guiness Draught PL-630 turntable, where the Ariston Audio RD-80 had once been. I can't say why it took me so long to, eventually, try it. It's possible I felt it would have a tough time to best the RD-80 I have been so accustomed to using this past year. Now, that I've used the Pioneer, it will be some time before the Ariston replaces it. I'll try to get pictures up on the weekend, along with a few of the albums I picked up this past month, or so. In one outing, I scored 8 Black Sabbath LPs. And some other classic LPs from the 70's to 80's.

Nando.
