- Broken beyond repair but highly affable
The security issue that was reported affecting Internet Explorer 6 through 11 was released today (May 1). It was also sent for Windows XP and Server 2003 users (now at end-of-life)!
If you do not have automatic updates enabled or have notifications for custom installation options or other reasons, please read the listed MS techical notes link if you need to and install the update, regardless of operating system version. You may wish to read the technical notes in case you have a problem, as it's suggested could happen.
Microsoft was nice enough to send this for you and it was for a good reason. Hopefully this will help to solve the exploit the government and computer experts perceived.
And hopefully they will do this again should they absolutely have to. It in no way means they will resume supporting XP, Server 2003 or and other end-of-life product they created.
You have been given a gift.
