See his Free Tuners post in the Forum Buy/Sell/Trade section. I think he's in MUTE and either doesn't realize it or it's there for a problem.

Can anybody walk him through before he figures it needs to be repaired? I'm sure that the owner's manual would be on hifiengine at least.

I dig it but it's FM only and I still listen to AM, mainly the oldies station nearby, but I also dig DXing AM.

Anyhow I'm going to offer to take the other two off his hands and I'm also looking to help him solve his problems with it. I remember that either FF or Web had one...

Looking at a huge picture of it I'm beting it has something to do with the MUTING THRESHOLD knob, adjust it maybe?

I just found this thread. Steven, thanks for your support! The Nikko is fixed, and I hope the Onkyo is well on its way. We'll probably never get the chance, but it would be fun to A/B them. I'm not at all sure that the Onkyo would take the #2 spot...

Kinda like analog tuners myself.
