From the top, moderato, 3/4 time...

I'm Peter, an 18-year-old student from Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been collecting tapes of all types (except 8-track) for about two years now, and have amassed somewhere around 900 cassettes.

I'm heading off to Northern Kentucky University next year, and majoring in electronic media and broadcasting.

Glad to be here!

Hi Peter,
I don't know about Electronic Media- there are always firms that need hookups and management of media displays and conferencing. However, I just got out of the Broadcast industry which is falling in on itself due to bad management and stupid thinking. The only station in Chicago that is growing is probably ME TV and it is because they are providing old programming that people have come to love.
I was in Radio since 1996 and while it provided some money that is all gone out of broadcast radio and now the trend is towards streaming from off a computer. You don't need too many people for this.
I served as Chief Engineer for 4 or 5 radio stations in Chicago. I have helped build some too.
The staff at most radio stations has dwindled down. You should keep this in mind as you train for your vocation. I was looking into IT support and it turns out that the market was saturated with these people so there was no reason to train in a field that had too many people already.
Just something to think about. I fix tape deck full time now.

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the forum...... It's nice to see some younger folks that actually have an interest in something beyond themselves. Your job likely gives you first choice on the 'goods' which can be both good and bad.

Welcome Peter. Cool stuff you've picked up and the prices can't be beat. I'm thinking (there I go again) that your tagline will become root-less in a couple of years!
