Something tells me too many smilies tho. Gotta figure out how to cut that display down or trim 'em (as you can see, I think I went a little overboard )
Welcome oh awesome-one from the land of cactus! Good to see you here!

Hi Stuwee
I have a story for you. My Grandfather owned a junk yard in Daytona. When my Dad was young they would race on the beach on Saturday nights. Well when the kids from the stock car drivers would race on the beach. You won't believe who my Dad raced. Richard Petty and the Allison boys. They would come to the junk yard to get parts for the heaps they were going to race that night. Pretty cool huh. My Dad said they were all crazy. I always liked when he would tell those stories.

Bad A$$ story Larry, I would love to hear more, did Dad drive a J-2 Olds? My baby sis used to work the M&M Racing program for the east coast, she said Kyle Petty was the nicest man she ever met, he loved Skittles, she always tossed him a bag at the race....of course, lot's of lives lost in the Petty's and the Allison's families, that's racin'
He mostly would get a beater from the junk yard and work all week on it. On the beach they have what is called red sand. If you hit it you just stopped. It was like quick sand. The cars weren't fancy they were going to tear them up any way. Back then it was OK to be a little wild as long as you didn't kill any one. Remember part of the Daytona 500 was on the beach for years.
