I bought a used iMac the other day. In some ways I like it better than the Mini, but in many ways it compares to its own disadvantage, especially in iPhoto, but that's another story...

On the back is the usual row of ports - USB, Firewire, Ethernet, and this external monitor port I've never seen before. Yeah, I don't keep up with things technological, and am too often like the proverbial bull at the new gate. Photos below, and can anyone ID the port to the right of the green Ethernet cable?

Depends upon what you want the cable to run. You can get a mini dvi to hdmi adapter for $5.40 at Cable wholesale.

You can use your iWidget or whatever widget to drive a HD TV with the DVI to HDMI cable.

Yep, either play high def movie in the computer and send it to the tv or use your tv as a computer monitor. Or you could stream video from the internet and play it on your tv.
