Just recently found your forum, and very much liked the content of it.

I am Alex, in North Carolina, a fan of cassettes, and audio in general. Started using cassette tapes some 40 years ago, when I was a teenager. Recently started looking for classic cassette decks and information about them. Forums like yours has been like a pill of knowledge, answering so many questions, and creating new ones.

Never occurred to me that Thrift Shops would be able to offer, from time to me, these treasures in audio equipment. I recently found in a local Goodwill store a Sony (3-head deck) TC-K555 for only $4, looks like new and is working great. I think that was a jump start for me, towards home recording again.

It sure is a lot of fun sharing this hobby with people all over, through forums like yours.

Thank you all for letting me participate here.

Welcome =). I just found a Teac V-670 (3 head single capstan) for $5 plus postage, apparently it has a distinct humming sound in the audio, cant wait to get a new toy in the house. I cant stop buying tape decks, I think its an addiction :laughing9: Hope that deck you recently acquired works out for you.

It's great to have you join us. Hang on tight, as Jerry may be adding a new sub-forum so that members can tell us about their latest acquisitions. There has been so much audio, especially vintage audio gear, finding its way to places like the Salvation Army, local charity recycling depots, and the likes. Also, once your friends, outside of the forums, find out you are into the older stereo stuff, it's most likely you will become the inheritor of such nostalgia. It's the Circle Of Hi Fi.
