Birthday greetings, Scott! Hoping you have a stress-free day doing something you enjoy. I figured you might not have taken the day off work to celebrate your birthday...like most of us.

Thanks guys! I actually did take the day off work. Nothing really planned though. Just a day to relax which is what I really need since I normally work 6 days a week.

Nice Steven.

I went out for lunch today with 2 members of family. Had some cake for dinner. I'm really going to pay for eating two pieces of it :p I dropped off my Linn turntable so he can install the new Dynavector 17D3 Karat cartridge on it I ordered in December. That is coming next week and I'll pick it up on April 2nd. I tried to get the XX-2 MkII cart, but they had none in stock and I already placed the order for the Karat. Enquired about their custom tube phono preamp. May consider that down the road as long as it competes well with solid state pres.

Back to work tomorrow.

Good on you for booking your b'day off from work. Sounds like you are going to have a sweet sounding turntable set-up soon, Scott. At least, the weather cooperated today after the horrendous rain and wind we've had. Nice to take it easy and have a no-fuss affair with kin.

Nando-

I was hoping the phono cartridge upgrade would be a good improvement. From what I've read, it should be. I'll be using the YBA phono stage with a MC step up transformer connected for the time being. The custom tube phono stage is an option for down the road, depending if it will be needed or not. I've read the phono stage in the YBA is very good, though the stereo shop owner said an outboard phono pre will still be an improvement.

I'll make you up a tape when I get the turntable back. I still have to make you that reel to reel tape. I just got some tape for that use as well.

My turntable is already finished. He has it ready to go with the new cart installed. I won't be able to pick it up till Thursday 31st though. Another 2 weeks away.
