I did this for you Jim. Is there any upgrades for this amp? There is for the DH-500. Do you know what year yours was made Jim? Is there an address on the back? I have gotten 2 dates when Rockford Fosgate bought Hafler. I have looked every where. One said they bought them in 1977. Then another says 1987. I have not a clue. I looked for manuals and upgrades. I found a thread about a pro board which is different than the DH. I also found a reference to the power caps.

It is a Rockford, I am sure that upgrading the transformer, the filter and output caps would be a good start.

Back in the day Fosgate made some of the best car power amps, kicked but over everything else in the day.

We put all Fosgates in my Sons truck a few years ago with an Alpine head, blew all his buddies away.

The fan is a bit noisey, I think a newer fan would not be as bad, I put a fan on my Adcom, it only comes on if the amp gets hot enough and it is very quiet.

Besides, who listens to music at a volume that a fan is heard?

Hafler P500's are a very nice amp. So are the DH-500 and all the Hafler stuff prior to the Rockford Fosgate acquisition. For the money, you can't do a whole lot better. I have some Hafler P230's in my current SS system along with Brystons, so I think that are great. The used to go for cheap on the Bay as well, especially the P Series because they had 1/4" inputs...Very nice amps in my humble opinion..
