I had no idea he was a he...
“Ginger” from the red hair, I guess. Not completely sure it’s his real name. British seem to have a dislike of red hair/green eyes/fair skin prone to freckles and sunburn, the name could have come from that, somewhat similar to our “N” word.

“The Ginger Baker Story” used to be on Netflix...
He was a crabby bastard.

Not a particularly handsome man. Peter Edward "Ginger" Baker was diagnosed with COPD in 2013 from years of smoking. In 2016, he had open heart surgery. He is credited for inventing the drum solo because his was the first one recorded, in the instrumental song "Toad" on the debut album "Fresh Cream" in 1966. This solo is featured in the 1995 film Casino directed by Martin Scorsese, during the infamous "head in a vise" scene.

I just saw it elsewhere. Sad, but I guess to be expected, he was in a really bad way.

Ken Lyons just died as well.
Kenneth Leo Lyons was a bass guitarist and founding member of the southern rock band 38 Special and also Lynyrd Skynyrd. He was born to mother Joyce Lavelle Godwin Lyons and father Clynn Leo Lyons in Jacksonville, Florida. He founded 38 Special with Don Barnes, Donnie Van Zant, Jack Grondin, Steve Brookins, and Jeff Carlisi in 1974.
