We don't have one. I wanted to talk about all components. It seems every one blames the amp for the sound. Now granted different amps sound different. And different components sound different. I DO NOT believe in synergy. But it seems the amp gets blamed. The Mellette house has a rule where audio is concerned. Garbage in garbage out. I try different things and I know I'm crazy. Like 1000.00 ICs. Oh well I tried them. Have I sold them. NO Will I sell them? NO You would freak at the size of my power cords. I think Web has one.. I hate components with lamp cords. I like my IECs. I want to chose how big and how long the cord is.
OK the reason for this post. I think everything that is connected to the system can change the sound. Some small some not. Some good some not. I think the sound is the sum of all components. Everything in the loop contributes or takes away. I guess I was spoiled from the beginning with the Rotel amp. I don't like spending a bunch of money; but I will. Some people believe in the law of diminishing returns. Trust me that is a crock.
Some like receivers. I don't. Which is ok. I guess they are convenient. To much stuff in one place. We all know heat kills electronics. Then there is money. It is a big thing in audio. I shop till I drop for what I want. I do not care much for most name brand components. I don't and I probably never will have a Marantz or Sansui, Fisher,Pioneer,or any of those ilk as an amp. It is OK if you do. The old days it was Onkyo, Rotel, HK and Yamaha were my favorites. Times have changed. I still won't own the 1st set of names. Just don't like them or most of their components. Just like speakers. No Sansui, Kenwood, BOSE, JBL, CV, Yamaha. I know Jerry you don't like that. LOL To me there are much better speakers out there for the money. Why buy them because they are cheap? If you aren't going to be happy. Harmon Industries killed a lot of good audio for the all mighty dollar.
I guess what I'm trying to say. Is don't knock new things till you try it. I use AC filters, big cables, silver ICs when I can afford them. I bi-wire and bi-amp when I can. Everything I do. I do for a reason. I have heard a difference when I tried it. I use silver solder. And yes Lee I forgot to send it. I get things cheaper than most; because I'm a dealer. I get discounts all over the place. LOL I mean I talk to people all the time. If you don't ask you will never know. If I find something that improves my system I don't mind letting you try it. It isn't a sales ploy. It is just to let you know somethings can be improved upon.
Well that be the end of my rant. Which I wouldn't post other places because I would get flamed for saying things about certain products. OH well it is off to work I go Hi-Ho Hi-Ho.
