We don't have one. I wanted to talk about all components. It seems every one blames the amp for the sound. Now granted different amps sound different. And different components sound different. I DO NOT believe in synergy. But it seems the amp gets blamed. The Mellette house has a rule where audio is concerned. Garbage in garbage out. I try different things and I know I'm crazy. Like 1000.00 ICs. Oh well I tried them. Have I sold them. NO Will I sell them? NO You would freak at the size of my power cords. I think Web has one.. I hate components with lamp cords. I like my IECs. I want to chose how big and how long the cord is.

OK the reason for this post. I think everything that is connected to the system can change the sound. Some small some not. Some good some not. I think the sound is the sum of all components. Everything in the loop contributes or takes away. I guess I was spoiled from the beginning with the Rotel amp. I don't like spending a bunch of money; but I will. Some people believe in the law of diminishing returns. Trust me that is a crock.

Some like receivers. I don't. Which is ok. I guess they are convenient. To much stuff in one place. We all know heat kills electronics. Then there is money. It is a big thing in audio. I shop till I drop for what I want. I do not care much for most name brand components. I don't and I probably never will have a Marantz or Sansui, Fisher,Pioneer,or any of those ilk as an amp. It is OK if you do. The old days it was Onkyo, Rotel, HK and Yamaha were my favorites. Times have changed. I still won't own the 1st set of names. Just don't like them or most of their components. Just like speakers. No Sansui, Kenwood, BOSE, JBL, CV, Yamaha. I know Jerry you don't like that. LOL To me there are much better speakers out there for the money. Why buy them because they are cheap? If you aren't going to be happy. Harmon Industries killed a lot of good audio for the all mighty dollar.

I guess what I'm trying to say. Is don't knock new things till you try it. I use AC filters, big cables, silver ICs when I can afford them. I bi-wire and bi-amp when I can. Everything I do. I do for a reason. I have heard a difference when I tried it. I use silver solder. And yes Lee I forgot to send it. I get things cheaper than most; because I'm a dealer. I get discounts all over the place. LOL I mean I talk to people all the time. If you don't ask you will never know. If I find something that improves my system I don't mind letting you try it. It isn't a sales ploy. It is just to let you know somethings can be improved upon.

Well that be the end of my rant. Which I wouldn't post other places because I would get flamed for saying things about certain products. OH well it is off to work I go Hi-Ho Hi-Ho.

Yep I've been using the A/C cord Larry sent me as an extension cord for my arc welder. It took two of us to carry that sucker out to the garage. :cyclops:

With all my filters and regulators. I don't have a dedicated circuit. I have a voltage meter on one of my filters and it stays at 119 to 122 VAC. I have no problems with the dimmng. I can't afford to run more circuits. I just took the last CB spot for my air compressors and loader. I went with a 20 amp. And I have a 200 amp service. If i go with a bigger compressor. I'm going to have to run another CB panel to get 240.

I found a place that sells the things to build power cords. I was thinking of doing some 10 ga wire and some nice connectors. If any one is interested let me now. Most of my cords I did get off ebay from China. They were like 35.00 a piece. They are a bit more now. So I am going to build my own. When I do it I will send one around. If I had a spare filter I would send it around. But I am using every one of mine.

Synergy ~ http://www.answers.com/topic/synergy

Larry, some folks don't understand a concept like this but, I've heard it, built several systems around it, it just is, no other way to describe it, kinda like quantum physics. The amp/speaker realtionship is a strange beast, so many variables, add cables into the mix and you have to get it all just so.....

I kind of understand the power cord thing, I had dedicated lines put in the house when I moved in, you would't think a few feet of grounded wire from the main box would make a difference after all it has to go thru from the power company to your house but i hear it! Logans need to be plugged in and make an awesome power cord for them, I haven't tryed the bigger ones yet (no $$'s for that ). Synergy is valid, works fo me anyway....

I just don't believe in magic. It is like this to me. After my PL is moded it may not have the synergy with my Labs any more? I have had this discussion before. Then what did they call it before they called it synergy? It is like the cable discussion. No one ever wins. It is just me. I have had and heard many systems. I didn't say wow it has synergy.
