I've got a couple pair of speakers that are absolutely great with my WOPL 500, available for sale. The Infinity RS IIIB pair I restored a little over a year ago that I used with my WOPL. They needed one woofer (one was missing) and after I found one, all four needed to be refoamed and I removed the crumbling, gooey foam that was surrounding the mid and Emit tweeter and replaced it with felt. I also have an extra pair of mids and Emits as spares, if you'd like. Then, a couple months ago, I inserted a pair of Infinity RS II speakers that I picked up at an auction this past fall. As far as I know they are all original but I'm not certain, all I'm sure of is that they function and sound great. After chatting with Bill LeGaul at Millersound I've decided to leave them as found at his recommendation. Bill is a genius at speaker repairs and also known as one of the foremost classic Infinity speaker expert.

Anyway, the RS IIIB pair are for sale for $499 OBO. If you pay the asking price, the extra pair of mids and Emits will be included. I'm between Lancaster and Reading, PA and can meet you part way, if you prefer. These will be improved cosmetically by replacing the grill cloth material as there are tiny holes and some pulls-both Infinity badges are there and intact.

The RS II pair are $999 OBO. Even the grill frame with cloth covering the rear of the midrange drivers are intact and in very good condition-they're usually missing. One of the speakers has a broken grill frame which may also require new cloth. The other grill frame is intact and will help making a new one for the other speaker a lot easier. Both Infinity badges (these are hard to find if missing) are intact. The only other issue they have is chipped veneer at the very bottom front of the speaker, common with this model.

Since these are local pickup I didn't take any photos yet but will if any interested party needs to see what they look at before coming to hear them. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.

I'm in the process of two new speaker builds and one amp build, Lee. Looking to assist in the costs and make room as my house isn't big enough for all this stuff!!! :)

Speaker Projects

Well Lee, the main projects consists of a pair of 10 cu. ft. boxes for a pair of vintage 15", 15 ohm drivers circa 1950-these are a known entity to me, I know how good they sound, to my ears at least. The other one is an experiment that a friend of mine is working on/fine tuning, involving two pairs of vintage drivers from two different manufacturers, per cabinet. I'm building the 10 cu. ft. cabinets for the first project and using some mid-century modern cabinets I've been holding onto for just such an occasion, for the second project. I know the second set won't outdo the first set but will sound quite good with excellent detail plus, they're for a second, smaller system and the first one is for my main system with each system being in a different room.

I started out in the early 70's as a SS guy but upon getting back into this great hobby, I've become a little more of a tube guy. I still appreciate and will own both tube and SS based setups, probably two of each when it's all said and done. I've been zeroing in on what I like best, which is what many (if not most) of us in this hobby are doing, either consciously or subconsciously, at least that's my opinion. :)

I figured a AK guy in PA or close NY, NJ, OH would have been all over those III's, excellent price Nelson, especially with all the work involved and extra drivers

Pics of spare Mids and Emits for RS IIIB's

All four still have their thin, foam rubber gaskets.

In the interest of full disclosure, the close up feature on the eBay listings I just put up for these seem to show that the woofers on the RS II pair, may have been re-foamed. Just wanted to point that out. My eyes are getting worse than I realized, I never noticed that in person!!!
