I just finished my variac resto-mod so I am putting up my other variac I reworked a couple weeks ago. It was fully disassembled and new meters were installed, new fuse holders, reworked faceplate, all it needs now is a Power cord (I used an extension cord which worked perfect). This one works excellent and comes with a warranty. The price is $350 (hey, this is good old american iron). You need this for your work bench. Pay no attention to the part number on the faceplate which says W10MT3W. I was not going to fork out another $50 to change the W to an A (it's a W10MT3A). You can tell the difference since the A has an amp meter and the W has a watt meter. It's a 10 amp Variac which works great for bringing up fresh builds on the work bench. No Rusty Crusty broke dick chineeze junk here guys.... It's not in perfect shape like the one I just finished (the one on the left is the one I just finished tonight and is a W10MT3W with the watt meter). I am open to trades (you ship yours to me, and I ship mine to you). I am interested in 700B's, 700 II, 4000t's, any of the bigger amps, C-1 or C-11's preamps (No Receivers or tuners needed here). Send me a PM if you want this Variac, it will last you the rest of your life!!!

Thanks Lee. These things are bullet proof and work excellent. I kept bumping the bulbs in the DBT and burning them out so I fixed that shit for good.

GOTTA have a variac....

The bulb limits current and the variac limits voltage...

Yes, both are nice to have on the bench for the reason mentioned.

If you have one, time to get the other.

Yep, this is nice. Now I don't have to unhook the amp from the Dim Bulb, I just set the variac and adjust the Bias and it's easy as pie.
