Had a spare moment and did some sleuthing. Took a few tries to find the right search term on Ebay but I finally found those single driver speakers that Louis Sohn gifted me. The drivers are indeed Chinese as he advertised but not as inexpensive - they're 6.5" DavidLouis drivers here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3223594998...BA5D22&hash=item4b0e1f9c42:g:1qsAAOSwq0Ripw2N

The boxes are from a pair of Australian (?) Kingsound Queen hybrid electrostatics, about 1.1 cubic feet in size with the transmission lines. Louis sent me a link to an old ad for some used ones: https://www.stereonet.com/forums/topic/86448-sold-kingsound-queen-hybrid-electrostatic-speakers/

Think I'll hold off on buying those Mark Audio Drivers and work with these a little more.

And I think I just figured out what to do about covering the transmission line holes. I need to build two platforms for bottom spikes as shown in the stereonet ad but build them as tubs, not flat planks. Then the front tub wall could be cut out and routed to match the hole and acoustic cloth or even fiberglass screen door screen could be attached on the inside of that front wall. Paint it all black and call it done.
