I read on another forum that heat will kill a laptop fast, should I get some hockey pucks for the Dell?? It does seem to get warm after some use of a few hours...
Make sure the air duct isn't blocked. At least with my wife's laptop, I have to go in there periodically with a vacuum hose and suck the dustbunnies out. Get's pretty bad - it can form an entire block just like a filter.

Well I just took a peek-a-boo, very clean..I blew it and it smiled , you'd think out here in the desert lot's of dust and stuff... it still feels hot right now, my hand on the battery case just under the Shift key is to hot to touch for very long.
Is it on a desk or lying on the bed, etc? I'd take the battery out and see if that helps any.. might need a new one. Beware of power outages tho, of course.
