In 2023 i tested 3D printed capstan belts for Nakamichi Sankyo DD and classic mechanism from UK friend Pete who made them. Sankyo belt gives outstanding results but for classic mechanism not.
Sankyo DD have from 0.023 - 0,030%WRMS on all decks which i have that time and here is plot/graph from Nakamichi CR-7.
Some days ago i got 3rd edition of 3D printed capstan belts for Nakamichi classic mechanism, as 1st edition was very bad. (0,2%WRMS).
Now pictrure is completly different…0,025%WRMS to 0,040%WRMS on classic mechanism...almost impossible, right? Those measurements are same or even better from old original Nakamichi belts and also much better from old Marrs belts with white »marrs« labbel on belts…not even mentioned gold« marrs« labbeles which were worse from white ones.
See here results:
I think we finally got 1:1 replacement capstan belts for Nakamichi cassette decks thanks to Pete and his huge, more than 3 years research to make the best belts.
