SNOW 2016.jpg

All of it happened overnight, it was really cold but the streets were clear.

Well, I was supposed to get over to the Social Security office to provide the one letter I didn't have to finish getting my low income energy assistance payment authorized, and as it was my Schwinn needs a new from tire and some other stuff, the tire is pretty badly cracked and it was a dog to pedal yesterday. I do not have the kind of tread on my big Rollfast to ride on snow/ice and my new one isn't finished nor did I want to just tear it up before I was even ready to go.

I know, second-rate First World problems.

No such things as bad days, just bad moments

The first snowfall was yesterday. I have a 35 minute drive in a tow truck at 5AM to get where I have to be and there was about an inch on the pavement. The trip took 2 1/2 hours. In BC new drivers must have an "N" displayed on the back. I'm generalizing but I speculate most of those off the road and those with no traction were "N's".
Thing 1: Buy a luxury house in Vancouver.
Thing 2: Move to Vancouver.
Thing 3: Get a licence (interchangeable with a Thing 4).
Thing 4: Buy a 100,000 plus dollar car (interchangeable with a Thing 3).
Optional: Learn to read and speak English.
Tenet: The more expensive your car, the more immune you are to weather conditions.

We had more today, just as much of the roads had cleared off. I had a driver take me into town to help me and when I saw the pharmacy had a one-day BOGO on 2 liter 7up products and it was cheap I got one and gave the other to the driver. Might as well sit and type and drink pop, I'm broke anyway. Santa ain't got postage and no sleigh.
