Rather than spend an hour explaining EIA codes and its history, I thought I would start this thread by first providing links to some web sites below.

I will add more detail as time permits or as questions arise.

Someone will need to compile a complete list as none of the individual documents has them all.

Lastly I added a link to Schumacher Corp (previously Woodward - Schumacher). They were the manufacture of most of the transformers used in Phase Linear amplifiers.

Looks like that Schumacher website is toast. I think this one is the new one. They make battery chargers now but have a section on old oem stuff.

Perry,

Thanks for the update. I was in such a hurry to get the posting out that I hadn't drilled down through their website.
By the way, they have been making battery chargers for some time. Years ago, I heard they were making battery chargers for Sears Roebuck.

I think they made transformers for a lot of different brands of battery chargers..

WOW, that's some interesting reading. Didn't realize it was THAT Schumacher family. Talk about a rags to riches deal...

Response From Schumacher Concerning Phase Linear 700 Transformer

(RE: Phase Linear part number 125-0034, Schumacher model 93-138-010-02). (NOTE: The Phase Linear parts list over the years listed this as 117 or 120/240/ 146VCT)

Here is the response I just received from Steve Mourousias at Schumacher concerning the transformer they made for Phase Linear:

"Sorry but we no longer have any information on this product."
"....
Some years ago we made a number of units obsolete, including this one. We did not archive the data so unfortunately I have nothing to send you."

Two other companies also made transformers for Phase Linear 700/700B/700II's:
1.) Phase Linear part number 125-0004. 117 or 120V/146VCT (Mfr is known and if still in business will be contacted)
2.) Phase Linear part number 125-0025-0. "117/220V, dual primary". (Probably for late 700B's which had a dual primary) (Exact mfr is not quite certain yet).

I will report back when more information is available.

By the way, the company that made the transformers for the Dual 500/D-500's is yet again another company. They are still in business and have sent me a drawing (sheet 2 of 2, NOTE: sheet 1 of 2 can no longer be found) and are willing to make them again. I am still awaiting pricing. Anyone interested in purchasing any, please let me know.
