Has anyone seen that guy on ebay, sahand0? He's that guy up north with all that NIB stereo gear. I'm just curious... where'd he get all that stuff? I'm sure legally of course, but there's gotta be a good story behind that, eh?

Anyone know?

I'm not sure there was a Circuit City in 1980.

Here's the scoop.

They are CANADIAN sold products as best as I know. My Pioneer UKP-7600 Supertuner II and 4" thin mount two way speakers have markings on the package that show CA for Canada and the instructions/warranty/registration inserts all mention Canada and the Canadian exclusive distributor at that time.

It's not just GOOD crap, it's NEW crap as well.

Since you aren't going to get warranty service on any of the Pioneer, JVC, Technics nor the Kenwood he has offered you'll have to take my word and Lee's as well (he bought then for me and could attest to what kind of seller he could be). The feedback seems to be NICE and most if not all were thrilled to get virtually new vintage equipment from that period. When I wrote him to thank him for the opportunity I now had, he wrote back that he and his wife work hard to please his buyers and that he was delighted that I was so happy.

Since I can pay Lee off in full next month my Christmas gift to self will be ALL MINE!

Get into it Jer, it's simply the most fun you could find, this 80s return trip.

I can't see what would be weird. I gather he either had a warehouse to clear or bought them in so many lots from somebody else.

I simply feel that it has been of the best chances EVER to find quality NEW vintage.

*Go Gos and Mister Mister sold separately...always play Top 40 responsibly and wear sunglasses at night as directed.

Not responspible for bad hair days and handlebar tassels...HE HEH. AM NOT!

Isn't it curious with a user name such as sahand0 how conspicuously close it is to my first name. No affiliation to the seller, of course.

I think it's some reference to he and his wife.

I still gots me old tape deck, a Pioneer CT-S88R. Bought it as a floor model back in.. hmm.. '85 or so. With a MA-R and the dbx built in, it really did put out some good stuff. Had to have it repaired in '87.. then repaired it myself a couple of years ago. I liked the display... nice and "in your face"...

The only thing not to like for me is the location of the POWER BUTTON...

TOO CLOSE to REWIND, afraid I would turn it off instead.

Yea there were CC in 1980. If I'm correct they are on line now or they were. I saw an ad awhile back from them. Here is a link.

Yes, that's from whomever bought the name etc but the rest of it went under and liquidated a year ofr two back.

Montgomery Wards is the same deal. We had a small store in the eighties that stocked mostly household appliances, audio and video gear. It gave way to Checker/Shuck's Auto Parts, now O'Reilly Auto Parts.

We had stores in town like viruses before the nineties and Walmart. The mall is on life support andfinally the downtown mostly populated if not the quality of yore. The store's ARE local at least.
