Dead or Alive and Pete Burns

You know how you wake upand you have a song stuck in your head?

After a bit of a lie down, I woke up to That's the Way (I Like It) ~ Dead or Alive.

I really like this group in my Dallas club heydays in the early-mid 80's, I saw them twice at small clubs, once Pete Burns the frontman/woman?? was obviously lip-syncing, the second time he really sang, I loved his tough, low, manly voice, he was quite handsome too . I wondered why a good lookin' young man who was so butch would try to be like Boy George? The sign of the times maybe? Record company pressure to be hip?

Tunes like Brand New Lover, My Heart Goes Bang, Lover Come Back were over the top mega dance hits in those days. And they had some funky stuff and afew ballads to show off Pete's chops. I'd do Anything and In Too Deep, well I looked on-line and was shocked, jaw dropped at poor Pete Burns, the dude has gone off the deep end of cosmetic surgery, he almost had to have his lower jaw amputated after a horrific botch job, not long ago. He still has a smokin' hot body for an 'it', strangely alurring. Anyhoo, I dig the old stuff of theirs ! Great backup singers used wisely

Ya know, I'm not sure about him, he doesn't want to be a woman, he spent hundreds of thousands on his face. he could have had tits and a vagina with a snap of his fingers, I've seen some pics of his 'junk' on line, he's nicely hung and like to show it off at shows. I think he just likes the juxtapostion of the he/she look. That really is a smokin' slim boy body, lot's of masculine tats, no piercing that I saw, but his face (before it really got F'd up) .......weird dude.

So anyone else like their tunes?
