Crown Amp for Sub Duty

Am considering buying a Crown amp for sub duty. Want more power than PLWO1000 provides. (need, no, want, yes!)

Looking for opinions on these two lines of amps?

Used Crown CTS or new Crown Xti series? Crown CTS new is too rich for my blood, so that's what I am down to.

I think I know which way to go but would love to hear any feedback on this subject.
 
How about a Carver TP2400?? I paid 650.00 for mine. It is rated to 750 per into 8, and 1200 into 4. Bridged- 2400 into 8 and 3000 into 4..
Want to try it out for a month or two Scott? I might sell it for what I have in it.
 
Thanks for the offer Lee but it looks like I already won the auction for the CT. (didn't give much time for feedback did I) Talked to the seller and found out it was an amp that was in his repair shop and they had trouble diagnosing/fixing and when contacting Crown about it Crown had them ship it to them. Crown serviced it, installed new main board and is warranted now by Crown. 1200 ch/into 8, 1500 ch/into 4 and 2. Nice price on a Crown factory serviced amp that I would have to pay about $3500 today if I wanted a new one. About 750 watts more per channel into 4 ohms which seems like alot until you realize it will only be about 3 dB louder than a WOPL1000. I think I will notice it in a good way though. Will never clip it.

Seems a very nice price, yes. It'll allow me to move the PLWO 1000 over to the Eminence Definimax 12" drivers doing 90-2000Hz duty. Should be a win win.
 
I'm hurt..... You didn't tell Scott that if he had good speakers he wouldn't need a sub.... lmao....
 
He knows more about speakers than I do. Especially HIS SPEAKERS. I really have no excuse Kev, ya got me. Yo Scott, if ya had decent speaks ya don't need a sub. There, feel better Kev?? I do.

You mean the other two? Send em to you of course. I might send send you a 400 first as I'm switching to a BMS compression driver soon and the 400 is the better amp for that I think.

So eventually, I should arrive at:
Crown on subs (1500 w/ch)
PLWO 1000 on 12" upperbass/mid driver (525 w/ch)
PLWO 550 on the compression driver/waveguide (275 w/ch)

P.S. My sub goes lower!

Pretty darned low. Immeasurably low. Lower than you've likely ever been, most likely.
