Country music legend loses cancer battle, goes home to to his lord...
Ray Price, 87 year old country music legend who has been battling pancreatic cancer which has recently spread to his liver, intestines and lungs, has left the hospital to live in hospice at his ranch in Mount Pleasant, Texas for what his wife has announced are his final days. He chose to end over two years of intensive treatment to return home and settle his affairs.
Price is known for hits like 'Crazy Arms', 'Heartaches by The Number and 'For The Good Times' that rose high on both the country and pop music charts. In what his wife, Janie, said was probably a final statement he thanked his fans, said he loves Jesus and "hopes he will see you again'. She also said that he has been blessed not to have suffered a great amount of pain so far.
Price has been married for 45 years and is a member of the Country Music Hall Of Fame. I can only find a reference to one child, a son named Cliff.
