Ordered a custom "Cabbage Case" for shipping amps back and forth. Standard dimensions plus 2 inches semi soft foam on all 4 sides. No packing peanuts or bubble wrap. It will weigh 26 lbs empty and cost 25.00 to ship it back empty. I think that's a bargain compared to the advantages. If I like it I have the option of getting another. They're not cheap, but neither are packing supplies anymore.

Lee,

Before you buy another let me check my closet at home as I think I have one very close to that size that could use a new home!

Thanks,
Robert

Yeah, I have a couple of Barry cases very similar. mine have the butterfly clasps but no locks. I'd want a lock or two on there of some sort (Master....)

cabbage cases is about a 15 minute drive from my house. I've bought 15-20 boxes from them over the years. Whether you're buying one or 1000 they always take care of you. They got started building racks for pro sound in the 70's.

Lee if I had known you were having one built I could have dropped off an amp for them to fit in the box. They're really good at customizing the inside of the box for the perfect fit. And you don't get nickle and dimed for the customization.

Supposed to be a very tight fit. Rack handles off, bolts back in the faceplate.

That's right I sure didn't. I only test fit a 400 (with no rack handles), so you are correct/. Coming this way in the morning??

I use a few Cabbage cases on the road and take them in occasionally for repairs. An old case that is a little larger than needed can be fitted with heavy foam padding to perfectly fit an amp. If anyone wants to get a case cutom fitted I can supply a 400 and a 700 and drop them off as I work just 15 minutes away.

Don, next one I get from them, cause I originally told them if I liked it I would like another, so that would be cool. I supplied them with some drawings , measurements and pics but it's still not like having the real thing in your hands.
