Message From Bob
Welcome to my website, BobCarverCorp.com. I'm back and building the best sounding products I ever have. My new reference products, the Crimson 350, Raven 350, and the cost no object Silver Seven 700 have me happy and excited! I’m also excited to introduce the final version of the line source speaker that I have been working on for so long. Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to hear from you.

I see he got the weight down on the Silver 700s. The original Silver Seven's weighed almost 100lbs apiece! Nice to see he is still at it! It would be cool if he joined here and hang the WOPL crowd!

I agree... and he started from a 'coffee can' PL700 prototype, no transformer - directly plugged to AC, got McIntosh labs certificate and started own business when all bands and fans wanted rock music played really loud... Looking closer at his gears, starting from first amp and ending up with Silver Seven (see encl. pics), is like learning the sound reinforcement history...
Here is must be played interview with Bob on his beginnings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFWZJrJWtzc ...:thumbleft: There is also his answer whether ss or vacuum tube is better - go to timeline at 50 min...

The Marilyn Monroe White Paper shows what Carver is still all about...out of the box thinking and execution. The man is incredible.

Cool - a world-class amp for about what the crazy Swede charges for a pair of interconnects or a power cord. Talk about value...

The Silver Sevens are a different animal Brother. Just the tubes would run you well over a grand for good ones. The furniture grade chassis looks very expensive to produce and finish also. I agree, very hefty price but there is an exclusivity about the Silver Seven's. Very few people in the World have them and you needed two for 2 channel stereo

I don't think Bob plans on selling many of them but you have to have a flagship amp

The first set of those 700s were sold on ebay 3 years ago for 36000.00 . I seriously thought about buying them. I'm now glad I didnt...

On the coffee can amp. Didn't happen. Where'd the outputs go???
I suppose it would be cool to ask him directly. Your seeing him in September when you take the WOPL's to the Colorado show? That would make an interesting interview for the board, especially live streamed!

Bob Carver, Brent Butterworth of Sound & Vision, and Red Robinson were guests at Innovative Audio this past June for the IA Garage Sale. I hope Bob and Brent return next year. If there's a chance Bob C. returns, I could prepare a few of your questions you want answered. All the guests signed all sorts of memorabilia and Bob did autograph various pieces of Phase Linear gear.

I think that if I had $36,000 I'd probably buy an RV and take my extra gear for a vacation.

Nice! I'd like to have a little talk with him about magneto restriction problems with the 1.5T he's holding and how to fix/filter it. I am not sure if Jer ever got my old one to quiet down yet. That amp sounded phenomenal when you put the gas to it, you don't hear the subdued buzz since it does not increase with volume level

We paid $5k for our 33' 454 Chevy motivated monster. Save some bucks, buy used low mileage well maintained from old people :laughing5:

Or it could be a 33 foot motorhome with a big block.
