I'm new to these amps to say the least but I want to try a pair to drive my Ohm Is. Have a line on 2 which have, at the very least, blown outputs. I have to buy those and a first gen 700 with missing meters and whatever else or buy nothing at all, package deal. Unsure what I should be offering the guy really. Say, if cosmetics are good. I haven't even seen them yet as they're still on a pallet.

Apologies if this is the wrong section, obviously my first post. If I do get them I'm sure you'll be seeing quite a bit more of me around here. Thanks in advance for any input.

If the cosmetics are good 500-700. And welcome to Phoenix. If you get those White Oaked expect at least 500WPC into 8 when you're done. How are you driving 1 speaker with just one amp.

Not sure what you mean there with the one amp comment.

So we're looking at $500-$700 for the package? I'm considering the 700 as a worthless addition to the deal basically. Maybe it has good parts, maybe it doesn't.

No such thing as a worthless 700. In your first post you say you wanted a pair to drive your Ohm I's...

That 700 Ser I with the missing meters can be a diamond in the rough. Ser I meters can be had that are brand new. They never went bad...those on the B's however did go bad occaisionally. I guess I'm trying to say is treat the 700 Ser I with a little respect. If it's cosmetics are good it's worth it to treat so it'll stay that way.

Ahh, I see. They're biampable speakers...

We'll see what I can get everything for and take it from there. Like I said, I haven't even seen them yet. They're from a very professional studio so I'm hoping they're near mint still.

If they're out of a studio they'll either be trashed or mint. Doesn't seem to be any inbetween. Had some Ohm Model F's in the late seventies, loved em, but they were all my Spec 2 wanted. Wish I could put my WOPL 1000's on a set now, bet they would wake em up.

Depending on what's going on with the 700, I may just sell it off to someone else. All I meant was that I have no interest in it. The Ohms are great speakers. Waiting on delivery of mine in a few months. For the time being, they're 2500 miles away. Just want to be ready when they arrive. I'll keep everyone informed as to how this deal plays out. Thanks again.

Just got off the phone with the gentleman. One 700B has distorted left channel, the other 700B has a blown right channel. Cosmetics are poor apparently. Says they look to have been racked 100 times over and scratched up. Not sure if they're even worth anything to me at this point. Any ideas on a fair offer with this new information? Thanks.

If anyone here wants them, I'll go take a look. If not, I won't bother. They're for my own personal use and I'm pretty picky on cosmetics.
