These 10 inchers give a tad more depth. A little more color. I have a 10 inch woofer in the Labs. It just doesn't have the depth of these. I built one sub in my life and I didn't need it for my speakers. Does any one run a sub?

Not for a long time. I had one with my magnepan's , a little boston 8". Only other I had was a Small REL.

I had 10's in the Logans, when I blew the orginals, the factory sent me some upgraded ones and the difference was quite noticable. I never could get the balance right in the listening area (a common prob with 'stat, plannar's), across the house we're talkin' serious bass tho.

The AR's have 8"s and are very nice in the lowend.

BTW, Martin Logan's Depth sub is one of the nicer subs on the market, powered, active crossover. Although Wardsweb *Luther* over at AK custom built one for his main rig, maybe have Lee or someone shoot him a PM over there and see what he did?

Just like anything you have to do is find a good amp and speaker and build the box well. I built a down firing one. The one I built was a 12" it would rattle the widows. The first DVD I bought was Top Gun. The jets taking off I had the windows rattling and the floor shaking. LOL The Vandies have 2 10"ers.

Does a good job.

The horns have 15" woofs firing down a bass horn which is 4' x 4' at the mouth and 8 feet long, split then folded and and stuffed in the corner. Very powerful bass, and accurate.

No doubt.

I sold a guy a sunfire sub who had K-horns. I went to his house to have a listen, the bottom fill seemed to work and he kept it. Maybe if his room was a little different he wouldn't have needed it. Horn bass is tight!

Bass wise, my Snell CIV lacked for nothing in bass performance (for me), worked well in the room. The EII is a little sloppy, but they should go on 10" stands. Not as deep.

The only time I thought a sub was a MUST, was with my small Maggies.

My room is 11X15 and then I cut the area down 6 or 7 feet by where the speakers are and where I sit at my desk. I don't have a stadium to listen in. Maybe one day I could add 10 feet to the back of the house. Yea right. LOL

Ah, you have a small space like me. A lot of things would be imposing in there lol.

As I guess I'm a Snell fan, I really would have loved to own the A/5. About a 6 foot array, with outboard crossovers and an outboard pair of 18" woofers. Required 2 x 2 channel amps or 4 mono blocks. I would also like to have the kind of space to put them in, like 30'x30'. Best large scale demonstration I ever had. Big ticket and rare.

And That is when I got infected.

LOL I could always run my speakers to the deck. Wonder if anyone would mind me jamming at 7 am with the meters pegged. LOL
